Enterprise social policy as a means of development of social work
The topic of the treatise entitled Social Policy in Enterprises as a Means of Develop-ment of Social Work is a reconstruction of the development of social work in enter-prises1 implemented as part of enterprise social policy in the territory of Bohemia and Moravia between the years 1876-1989. Since its professional beginnings, social work has been a major actor and instrument of social policy. Social policy created an environment for the establishment of professional social work. In current spe-cialised literature, enterprise social work is described only in fragments, without any link to the content of social policy realised in individual enterprises nor to how it is implemented. Yet, according to Šálková (1980), social work in organisations was an important part of enterprise social policy. The aim of the treatise is, based on the study of primary sources of writ-ten material in particular, to describe and analyse enterprise social policies of selected entities from the territory of Bohemia and Moravia, implement-ed mainly in the twentieth century, to describe the areas of enterprise social welfare including institutions and social services offered to employees, and to identify the applied methods of social work, with regard to constitution of enterprise social work as one of the areas of social work performance.
